3 Cheapest Touchscreen Mobiles !!

Today touchscreen phones are in vogue and with consumers demanding them, manufacturers are only happy to churn out these phones.

The trend started with Apple's iPhone and we give it complete credit for this revolution. With the success of the iPhone, manufacturers started bringing out their own versions of touchscreen phones. However, since the price was so high not many people could afford it. Manufacturers soon realized that though people were willing to embrace the new technology, not many could get their hands on one easily.

Samsung and LG catered to this audience with the Star and Cookie respectively; Cookie being the first cheapest touchscreen handset. Since then the market has been flooded with several touchscreen handsets for the budget conscious buyer.

However, there are many confused buyers out there who have a budget in mind but can't make up their mind on which touchscreen handset to go for.  In this article we'll try and help you pick the best touchscreen phone that suits your need and budget.

Under 10K
We have three handsets in this budget and there seems to be quite a stiff competition. We see three major manufacturers - all trying hard to create an impression with their phones.

LG Cookie Pep GD510Rs.6,900
The Cookie Pep is the new upgraded version of the Cookie from LG. The Pep has recently been launched in India. The phone has been improved and seems to have come of age. It's easily the cheapest touchscreen phone available as of now. The Cookie Pep is compact even though it continues to house a three-inch screen. The phone now seems smarter; it has multi-tasking capabilities and a whole new interface compared to its older version.

The phone has received a hardware upgrade in terms of camera. It now has a 3.15MP camera deployed. However, it doesn't have autofocus or flash but does better than the 2.0MP camera in the old Cookie. The touchscreen of the phone is good overall with smooth transitions and satisfactory response to touch. The QWERTY keymatt of the phone could have done with better touch accuracy, though one can get used to it over time. The phone is worth the price demand.

Nokia 5230 Rs. 8,900
The Nokia 5230 is a stripped-down version of the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic. The phone loses its Wi-Fi and comes with bare packaging. The build quality has a noticeable drop but this is expected for the price it comes at. You get the whole functionality and the touchscreen handset that is designed by Nokia. Being a Symbian handset it remains a smartphone and has lots of applications available on the web. If you are still on a tighter budget you can opt for the Nokia 5233, which is an even more stripped-down version of the same. This one even loses 3G and GPS. The 5230 is Nokia's offering for Nokia lovers and it is worth its price.

Samsung CorbyPro
Rs. 9,500
The Samsung CorbyPro is from the new series of touch handsets from Samsung. After the success of the Star series, Samsung launched the Corby series and now we have several phones in this series as well. The CorbyPro is my pick for its pricing and features. It's one of the good touchscreen handsets with a QWERTY keypad. A hardware QWERTY keypad is any day better than a keymatt that appears on screen. The CorbyPro with its slide out QWERTY keypad makes it a texters delight. The phone has social network integration and a smooth TouchWIZ UI. The phone has a 3.5mm jack for music and a 3.15MP camera with geotagging capabilities. The phone is pretty well loaded. It also has Wi-Fi, which is a big plus point. This is a complete phone and its pricing makes it quite a steal.
