This is our first interview. We interviewed Tanay Sukumar.
He is a second-year Civil Engineering student at Delhi College of Engineering (age 18). He owns a satire news site News That Matters Not which is fully run by students.
Q1. Who is Tanay Sukumar?
Tanay - Everybody on earth is a nobody at one level of society, a somebody at another level, and a boss at yet another level. Same with me! I'm a nobody to the world at large, a blogger and humour writer at the internet level, an engineering student at an academic level, and an eternal kid for my parents.
Q2. What is NTMN and when did it start?Tanay - News That Matters Not is what I came out with when I wanted to have a news humour website of my own. It started in November 2009. I was impressed by the concept of satire through the medium of humorous imaginary news stories. So I wanted to have something of my own. I admit I was not innovative and the concept of fake news is not mine, but the truth is that plagiarism of concepts is what runs the world. (Not that I promote plagiarism of actual creative work done, I just meant that competition can only be generated when someone copies your idea.)
Q3. What are your future plans?

Tanay - Watching Cricket. Else, I used to read a lot of fiction till a couple of years back. Now I don't get much time to do so. I like watching comedy on television.

Tanay - I am doing my B.E. in Civil Engineering right now. Besides, I wish to become a writer, and would like to establish myself as a humorist, even though I have considerable doubt over my sense of humour.

Tanay - Start by blogging, it gives you an idea of how much you can captivate the world, and how much people actually like your writing. It gives a trailer of what is to come.

Tanay - Right now, it is a mere hobby.

Tanay - Besides cooking up news, I watch cricket, and spend time on Facebook. My attempts to try twitter have been very weak.
